Google Plus One Sub Domain Goes Live

Google launches a new subdomain, Google Plus One, launches a new Google profiles page, and who knows what else.

UPDATE: Google just released the code to add Google +1 buttons to your site / blog here….

Since where I caught this on Louis Gray’s Buzz sharing was a little misleading I thought I would clarify with this.

Here is what Plusone.Google.com looks like.... Click to see full screen....

If you are logged into your Google account, you will only see PlusOne.Google.com redirect to your Google profile. Log out or use another browser and you will see the screen above.

The important point here is what a NEW Google Plus One user would see, a prompt to create a Google profile.

Also expect Google Apps administration of Google profiles to be appearing soon… AND maybe, finally Enterprise Google Buzz too?

  1. Notwithstanding the typo in the domain listed above Chris – you are correct. What pops is something that looks strangely similar to a FB profile…

Doubtful there is any coincidence there. Will be an interesting summer. Clash of the Titans II is Google vs Facebook.

  2. I am not sure of the point – it just goes to the Google Profile – guess they are using it to get more people to fill out their profiles? I am really holding out hope that this Plus1 actually goes somewhere.

  3. This is going to be new googlefacebook profile and add platform- with the integration of the powerful searchengine that google has, the social networking is going to be fast and furious.

  4. I love how you are keeping us in the know of what Google is doing Chris. I listened to your interview with Howie Schwartz’ organization about PlusOne and all the other changes coming from Google and it just boggles the mind of where it can all go.

  5. Do you think Google will make it so we can use Plus One on more than just one browser? I use Chrome for some things and Firefox for others. It would be nice if our profiles can link across browsers. Right now I can only use Plus One on Chrome.

I am putting all my search results for the local businesses I use into the Plus One. I will have my own directory that way.

Like where to get Wild Bird seed and find out if it is in stock before I drive there, for example. I like what they are doing.

  6. It’s all coming together just like you said it would…

  7. hi chris

I have started to send my loyal subscribers to sign up to their new Google profiles. most of them did not even know they could create a google account let alone a google profile, so once again a timely reminder form you prompts me to do something I should have done a long time ago. So for everyone else out there, dont assume everyone knows about creating google accounts and profiles !!
