Google + finally releases the most asked for and Needed Plus feature, verified names!

In a Google + post from Google:

We’re starting to roll out verification badges on profiles so you can be sure the person you’re adding to a circle is who they claim to be. Check out the video below (or my profile) to see what these verification badges look like.

For now, we’re focused on verifying public figures, celebrities, and people who have been added to a large number of Circles, but we’re working on expanding this to more folks. Thanks again for sending in your feedback!

I’ve always considered my self a celebrity, now it seems Google does too? Glad to see this feature come back Google, and so is everyone else on G+ (except for the spammers).

Also I just added Dolly Parton to my list of Best People To Follow On Google+ Plus. This will make adding to that list much easier and I am sure I speak for all of us on Google+ by saying Thank You Google!

    This is great news so we can know if the person we want to follow, or add to a circle is really that person. Congratulations on making the realm of verified.
    All your faithful readers know you should be verified! However, there can be only one, +Chris Lang!

    If we are going to have this badge, are we also going to show as verified across places like orkut? Just wonder if you know.

    Hard to say Lisa, Google is pretty centered on G+ right now (much to the demise of my Google TV update)….

    But G+ is still considered a limited test, expect what works on G+ to be seen else where.

    After all my verified profile came from Google Knol, nothing to do with G+!
