Google Wave Account Invites

Here’s how you get the rarest ticket of the year, a Google Wave invite

September 30th, less than a week away as of this writing and public Gwave invites go out to 100,000.

But exactly who will get them? Here’s the straight poop, right from a Google Wave guy as of September, 22nd, 2009.

Round 1 The first to get invites will be all those who have developer access to the current sandbox build for dev testing. (that’s me)

Round 2 The next to get invites from Google will be select businesses and colleges / schools. (that maybe you)

Round 3 Finally, those who signed up will be next. (That’s probably you)

So how do you get yours?

Get to know someone who has developer access already and for you that’s me.

Because just like Gmail in the first days of it’s release, those who are the first to get public Gwave access as users have invites to pass on to others.

This is how it worked with Gmail in 2004 and this is how Google guys tell me it will work with Gwave this time too.

So who get’s invites from me?

My members site subscribers to the Gwave Surf Club get my invites. They have been the early adopters and will be way powerful on Gwave for seeing the light and hanging out with me early on.

My invites will go to the members by order of their date of subscription. The earlier you joined the members club the closer you are to the front of the line.

If you want to get in line you can come hang out with us at a little spot we like to call the Gwave SurfClub. As I have Gwave invites available they will go to the group.

This is not an attempt to sell anything or my invites, but I will pass my Google Wave invites along to my paying clients first as you will do the same with yours. I am sure you will understand.

Lastly…

For those of you who have been around since this all started last June, 2008: Rocque, John, Boomhauer and now Margie, you know what a long strange trip it has been. How did we ever make it?

See you on the final piece of the Google Friend Connect puzzle, as we turn the corner into the home stretch, way out in front it’s Chris Lang riding Gwave, a winner by a mile…

    Hiya Chris,
I am so looking forward to this. Thanks for including me. I hope you had a great birthday.
I am back at the day job molding minds to love math and to love kayaking and surfing, too.
I have some great students once again.
I am anxious to catch the GWave. We are always looking for the perfect wave and maybe this is it.

    @Matthew,

Wanted to be sure you understood how this is going to go.

Only my members site members are going to get invites first.

You have to be a member of the 27 buck a month members site.

Was that not clear in the blog post?

I just want to make sure I did not mislead anyone.

I will be glad to pass on invites outside the members site but 5 new people signed up today already.

I can only do so much, that’s why I am starting with my client’s.

I hope, gwave will be an accessible service, more accessible than friendconnect is at the moment, for users with reading disabilities (like I am =blind). We’ll see it next week. Thanks, Chris, for all the help and tips you provided to me during the last months.

Fantastic, Chris! This is going to be one hell of a ride… It almost feels like it’s not real. Thanks for putting me in a position to be successful. I’m sure many others feel the same way…
